Mandatory registration for all elevators
Since the beginning of July 2025, the Ministry of Development has launched the digital platform of the Elevator Registry through gov.gr (https://elevator.mindev.gov.gr/). The registration concerns all elevators installed in Greece and is mandatory regardless of their certification or functional status.
New deadline for the completion of the registration: Extension until June 30, 2026
The initial deadline announced by the Ministry for the registration of the elevators was supposed to be the 30th of November, 2025. However, due to the significant number of lifts that remained unregistered even a few days before the deadline expired, the Ministry of Development announced on November 28th, 2025 the extension of the deadline for 7 more months, until June 30th, 2026.
This new deadline is expected to be final, with no extra extensions foreseen. Furthermore, all administrative fines and sanctions according to KYA 28245/2008 are temporarily frozen till then, in an effort to motivate all citizens to complete the registration process.
The aim of the Elevator Registration Platform
The aim of implementing the Elevator Registry platform is to provide the competent state supervisory authorities with a complete picture of the state of elevators in our country. Such a thing has not been possible until now due to the lack of a central, comprehensive, and up-to-date database.
Following the completion of the registration process and based on the data collected, the relevant decisions regarding the timeline for the certification and modernization of elevators in residential buildings, businesses, and public buildings are expected, so that they meet safety standards and legislative requirements.

Ποιος είναι υπεύθυνος για τον έλεγχο του ανελκυστήρα;
